When i sleep, i have dreams and Dreams. The former are forgotten usually, while the latter stay with me for decades, and are often prophetic. So, Wednesday when i woke up, i recalled a d/Dream. It seems like dream rather than Dream, but input/interpretation welcome. So:

It's late morning, and i'm walking South on a street, then turn Westward down an E-W street in NW DC, somewhere E of 7th St NW, and happen to run into a Norse scholar with whom i am acquainted. She is loaded down with many a shopping bag from various stores. I greet her and we walk together, turning North up 7th St NW after crossing to the West side of the street, and we walk for some time up past where 7th St NW becomes Georgia Ave NW. As we're walking, we walk through an archway over the sidewalk, and for the next longish block we are walking through a bank lobby done up in blue, but with a sidewalk running through the street side of it. I commented on how i didn't remember the establishment. JS shrugged in reply, and then i awoke. Or at least it seems i immediately awoke at that point. So, a person whom i know, a setting that i know if with a with a surreal element. I know that she and i were chatting along the walk, but it was presented in vignettes, so bits were implied, but remembered in the dream context. I do know our final destination was a restaurant further up Georgia somewhere, maybe up by Piney Branch Rd.

A Most Very Worthwhile Read
Aug. 31st, 2008 09:42 amRecommended reading for all, but particularly for the statistically significant part of my readership, who like me, are too young to remember forced prayer in schools in the States.
I'm very glad not to have been exposed to that growing up, nor do i want my nephews, or anyone, having to do that. People should be free to make up their own mind, to explore and find what is right for them.

Stem Cell Research
Jun. 30th, 2006 05:40 pmA friend of mine is on a pre-med track. He's been assigned to research Religious, spcefically denominational, views of stem cell research. We found data on the topic from a variety of Abramic groups, including but not limited to: UUs, Witnesses, Roman Catholics, Reform Jews, Consevative Jews, Muslims, and and many other groups. One Abrahamic group we found no info on the topic for was the Religious Society of Friends.
So, if you be Friend, Buddhist, what-have-you, does your religious denomination/path have a position on stem cells and stem cell research? Please identify the denomination/path and provide references when possible. Thank you.

Saturday, i slept a bit later than usual, despite protest on the part of the cats, then went over to the
nookery, ( and gleefully dealt with a bunch of trash and recycling )
It was wonderful getting to spend a bunch of time with
nosebeepbear, and we got a lot of useful things done around the house, too.
Sunday, which it still is right now, i got up, started to go to church, realized i forgot the smudge stick, went home, got the smudge stick (of sage and piñón), went to church, and helped lead a very successful Summer Solstice Service, ( and had a lovely afternoon )
Then i came home, fed the cats, who are right now on the couch beside me, sleeping on
benhill's blue fleece, read the Post, did some laundry, did the dishes, cooked dinner, then surfed some.
A most wonderful weekend all-in-all. Low key, great company, and fun activities. Little more can be asked of a weekend.
