Saturday, i slept a bit later than usual, despite protest on the part of the cats, then went over to the
nookery, and had a wonderful time with
nosebeepbear cleaning the back porch, which is now wonderfully usuable again. We threw away a bunch of stuff, which was so very cathartic. Who knew that the Shady Grove Solid Waste Transfer Staion and Recycling Center could be so much fun. Oddly, the transfer station people did not seem to care that my car is registered in Virginia.
A dump or transfer station in at least this part of Virginia has a gate that checks your state and local regristration to determine whether you need to pay to use the facility or not. (Yes, we have both state and local auto registrations in VA, and they are separate.)
Then
nosebeepbear and i went to Moby Dick House of Kabob in Kentlands for lunch, after which we retired back to the
nookery, where i vacuumed and then shampooed the carpet in the living room.
It was wonderful getting to spend a bunch of time with
nosebeepbear, and we got a lot of useful things done around the house, too.
Sunday, which it still is right now, i got up, started to go to church, realized i forgot the smudge stick, went home, got the smudge stick (of sage and piñón), went to church, and helped lead a very successful Summer Solstice Service, after which i went to lunch at Udupi Palace, a kick-ass vegetarian Indian restaurant in Takoma Park with my friend P from church, and R from Dulles Triangles who attended the service today.
Then i came home, fed the cats, who are right now on the couch beside me, sleeping on
benhill's blue fleece, read the Post, did some laundry, did the dishes, cooked dinner, then surfed some.
A most wonderful weekend all-in-all. Low key, great company, and fun activities. Little more can be asked of a weekend.
