What's in Your Pocket?
Apr. 25th, 2005 05:33 pmI'm a member of a group called The Mirth Brigade. We do social things like dinners, singing and dancing. Twenty-four April was Poem in Your Pocket Day, resulting in a flurry of poems posted to our egroup. This is one that I thought yall would find pleasing. I know not the poem's provenance, only that Kim posted it for us, as as she put it, "This one kinda shows where my mind's at today..."
Eye halve a spelling chequer
It came with my pea sea
It plainly marques four my revue
Miss steaks eye kin knot sea
Eye strike a key and type a word
And weight four it two say
Weather eye am wrong oar write
It shows me strait a weigh.
As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee fore two long
And eye can put the error rite
Its rare lea ever wrong.
Eye have run this poem threw it
I am shore your pleased two no
Its letter perfect awl the weigh
My chequer tolled me sew.

Date: 2005-04-29 04:01 pm (UTC)Huh. Thank you. That piece is my first writing on the subject. I'm not sure why i decided to share, nor what i expected in terms of response. I do know i was not seeking pity, and that i felt it offered insight into me that i don't often allow people to see. Fred had said that it was 'quite moving' and left him not sure how to respond. Hm. Anyway...
