I'm a member of a group called The Mirth Brigade. We do social things like dinners, singing and dancing. Twenty-four April was Poem in Your Pocket Day, resulting in a flurry of poems posted to our egroup. This is one that I thought yall would find pleasing. I know not the poem's provenance, only that Kim posted it for us, as as she put it, "This one kinda shows where my mind's at today..."

Cute poem. I think I remember it.

I read the 4/23 entry. It's one of those entries where to respond on the post seems almost to sully it, particularly when all one wants to say is 'I read. Thank you for letting us in.' and 'what horrible things life sometimes brings us.'

BTW, re Thomas Jefferson High School, did you know that there's an LJ community? [livejournal.com profile] tjpeople

Huh. Thank you. That piece is my first writing on the subject. I'm not sure why i decided to share, nor what i expected in terms of response. I do know i was not seeking pity, and that i felt it offered insight into me that i don't often allow people to see. Fred had said that it was 'quite moving' and left him not sure how to respond. Hm. Anyway...

As for [livejournal.com profile] tjpeople, i knew it existed, but have found not enough of interest to make it worth joining. I do check into it to see what's been posted periodically though. Er, are you a TJ person too?

no, but I know a couple of others. reading the community is probably not worth the time, but if you join other alumnae may notice it on your communities list, which is sometimes cool for networking.

(much as it's possible to watch a community without joining it, it's far more useful in most cases to join a community and not bother watching it.)
