Long ago, i read an SF novel, say 25-30 years ago, a paperback, if that matters.
It opens with a boy/young man waking in a hospital in the future -suspended animati or frozen for medical breakthrough or what, and finding that the money in the US is now called clarks, after his father, a former president, who is pictured on them.

Any clues, anyone?

I think I know this! If it's the one I'm thinking, it's YA and I have it on a shelf at home. I'll check tonight.

Does it involve, like, weird medical procedures for the elderly, and a retirement home (or perhaps something more sinister) called Valhalla? And he has to run away a lot?

Yes, it's YA, and i got it from Potomac Library in Woodbridge, VA way back when.

Those other details are familiar. I remember an evil administration or something, and him working against it and fleeing. I read Anna to the Infinite Power around the same time, which i'm sure it's not, though the themes are not dissimilar as i recall.
