Coastal erosion is a perfectly natural phenomenon. If a person or a society built close enough to a body of water that erosion causes problems for them, they deserve to lose their structure(s) to the tides/flow/water. Hmph.
And I will be sure to hold them up for every piece of gold they have as the land disappears from beneath them in a desperate attempt to stop it from happening ;)
