I've posted no real content since the 1st. So, highlights:
  • Sunday the 3rd, after church, i was not feeling well. At bedtime, my temperature was 101.9 F
  • On waking on the 4th my temp was 100.6, but 101.6 after bathing. I called in to work and went to the doctor. The doctor prescribed amoxycillin and duratuss.
  • The 5th, i felt a bit better, but stayed home just because i thought i should rest more. That evening, my mouth began to swell. I stopped taking the duratuss.
  • The morning of the 6th, i was back at the urgent care due to the allergic reaction to the duratuss, which was mildly abated by then. So, i endeded up with 6 days of prednisone to go with the rest of the amoxycillin. I went back to work on Friday the 8th. I slept most of that following weekend.
  • Sunday the 10th was the start of the UU church year, with Ingathering and Water Communion at my UU church.
  • After the service was orientation for Sunday School teachers, where i learned i'm working with the middle-schoolers this year. We're doing the Our Neidgboring Faiths curriculum this year. We will be studying Judaism, Islam, Paganism (Native American, Ifá, Northern European), Christianity (Catholic, Protestant, Ordthodox), Buddhism, Hinduism, Secular Humanism, Quakerism, and Unitarian Universalism, in that order.
  • Last week and this week at work have been very busy, and we're only just getting a trickly of issues about our new release, in part because we're trickling it out.
  • Oh, Rosh Hashana was Saturday, Happy New Year to all. Between work and illness, i did not observe this at all this year.
  • Almost forgot the shuttle trips. On the 8th, after work, my sister, her children (ages 7 and 6 mos) and i took our mother/grandmother to Breezewood, PA, where we transferred Ma to her brother Lou, who took her back to Cleveland with him, so they could go to a hearing about their father, who has alzheimers on Monday the 18th.
  • The hearing did not go well, in part due to Ohio law differing dramatically from Virginia law in terms of custodial supervision of elders in the case of multiple siblings. End result, is the youngest brother has full custody of their father. This is so not a good thing. All the rest of us, including his own children, do not approve, but there it is. :| I'm going to have to have a very long heart-to-heart with the youngest brother, who does not understand why there are trust issues. Dude, if you weren't lying and being manipulative and wrapping your actions in your devout Catholocism, there wouldn't be trust issues, now would there. Sigh.
  • Saturday the 23rd, i arrived late to assist [livejournal.com profile] madbodger and Charles, who may have an LJ handle,
help the Dutkys paint the nursery for their soon-to-be born daughter. We're going to finish the job next Sunday. After the painting, and a fine meal from Lebanese Taverna, i went back to Breezewood, meeting Mom and her 1st younger brother. We dined, then i took Mom back to Dale City before heading back to my place in Reston. Oh, and uncle and i changed one of my tires in the parking lot of the restaurant in Breezewood. I got home about 1:30. Not bad since we didn't set out from Breezewood until nearly 22.

And thus has been my life this month. Oh, almost forgot. I had dinner with [livejournal.com profile] muzikmaker and [livejournal.com profile] agentxs at Yuan Fu Vegetarian in Rockville on Monday the 18th, at which i get my violin back. I need to get 2 new mutes and a new dampit. I really like the new bridge. It's cut a bit differintly than the one it replaced, but in a good way. And the rehaired bow plays so much better than it did before. Who knew that rehairing would make such a huge differnce. I still want to get a new bow, as i'm not fond of the lightness, nor the balance point of this one, but it's quit usable now. Thank you [livejournal.com profile] muzikmaker21!
