My friend Nadya in Berkeley called me tonight. It turns out our mutual friend Ricardo Negron died in February, due to a stroke. He was 36. Somehow, I failed to find out until now, as several other people apparently failed to make touch with me at the time. Ah, well; apparently I was meant to miss that, as much as I would have liked to have been there.

Date: 2005-04-24 03:06 pm (UTC)I will be reading your rememberances of September 1984 to Early September 1986 at some point. I was touched by your fishing with maternal grandfather post, but couldn't put it into words and still can't.

No pressure. I got 1 telephonic response from someone this piece. She commented that the bit about my mother at the hospital made her realize the value of a medical advocate, and called her actions brave.
Frankly, with the length of the essay, i was mildly surprised anyone read it at all. I am also seeking editorial content for style; i've not vocalized the whole thing to anyone in years and I think it would make an excellent essay with some tweaking. Or perhaps I think too highly of my work. Eh.
:"> Aw, shucks. I'm glad it touched you. I'd be happy to chat with you, or whomever else who may wish to for that matter, about it sometime if you, or whoever, would like. My email is in my profile, and you have my phone number.
