Anyone else find it a little strange that it said people hid inside a classroom for over 2 1/2 hours before anyone told them it was clear? That is seriously scary. My kid goes to a NoVA branch. Think I'd wait 2.5 hours quietly while trying to find out if she was ok?

There is a text alert system. I got a text message within 30 minutes of the incident informing me that the Woodbridge campus was closed for today, and 2 hours later another text saying it's closed tomorrow. I found that odd, since i'm signed up for Annandale messages, but it said it was sent to ALL NOVA. So, you may want to sign up for the system, if it's open to non-students.

Scary. :-/ I worry that the more coverage each shooter gets, the more desperate kids will turn to shooting up their school to make a statement. Thank goodness no one was hurt or killed!

Down in hoodbridge I'm surprised the story didn't end with the kid riddled with bullets.

Reading the article, his bolt action rifle jammed? That takes some effort.

It doesn't help that it seems he'd acquired it the day before at Dick's.
