Stupid transit tricks

I live near Reston Town Center. Yesterday, i got a bus and a train to Ballston. Including walk to bus, took me about 45 minutes. Approx this route.

My usual work location is 3 miles away in Herndon. Getting there via transit requires either three buses and more than an hour, or two buses, starting with a 5 mile trip in the wrong direction, and about an hour.

PSA: Inauguration Day Bridge Closings

The following bridges between VA and DC will be closed on Inauguration Day, Tuesday, 20 Jan 2009:

Chain Bridge
Key Bridge
Roosevelt Bridge
Memorial Bridge
14th St Bridges

Long and short of it, if you're in the DC area that day, esp in DC or VA, DO NOT DRIVE if you can help it.
