The Unitarian Universalist Affordable Housing Corporation is desperate for volunteers for tomorrow. They need help renovating, mostly painting and cleaning, a housing unit for a poor family. Contact is Gary Mummert. Contents of his email for help:

We have a critical need for volunteers for Saturday, Oct. 8 to clean and paint an apartment for a family in the Hope and a Home program. 9 AM to 2;30 normally.

Site is 3543 10th Street NW.

I usually don't beg, but tonight I must. A congregation was not able to fulfill their commitment for this coming Saturday, and we really need to follow through with our UU commitment to support this critical work for very poor families.

If you can only give a few hours, your service would be immensely appreciated.

I volunteer with UUAHC regularly, but unfortunately, i'll be out of town this weekend and can't help this time. :|
