Temporary Crowns

dcseainFriday, they installed a temporary crown on molar 31.
Saturday, it broke. (on a barely 1.5mm diameter piece of carrot)
Monday, they installed a new temporary crown with stronger cement.
This morning, Wednesday, it broke. (on a very soggy piece of Golden Grahams)
I go back to the dentist this afternoon for my 3rd temporary crown on that tooth.
What are your experiences with temporary crowns?

Date: 2009-04-23 12:28 am (UTC)Probably so. I grind at night, which i told them at intake, and the woman who prepped today's temporary crown - with permanent cement this time - mentioned.
I concur about the eating healthily w/out crunching, though yellow dal, palak paneer, shahi paneer, yogurt, eggs, and well-steamed veggies can go a long way on that count. Not to mention vitamin-enhanced fruit smoothies.
