WHY IS SOMETHING BABBLING AT ME LOUDLY when viewing my fiends page, and how the hell do i make it stop? WTF!

So you know, until it goes away, i will not be reading my friends page at all.

Did an experiment, and it's on a loop, brought to me by Fosters, and is babbling about the true meaning of Halloween, which is a topic of interest, but not that loudly nor frequently, and most definitely not on a loop. GRRRR!

UPDATE: It's caused by a post of somebody on my Baltiwash filter, so it's someone in my last 50 posts who lives between Baltimore and Fredericksbug, the Potomac and Winchester.

You can turn off the volume to read your Friends page if you would like ( occasionally checking to see if its fixed) and/or contacting the appropriate LJ people to bitch at.

Cheers!

[livejournal.com profile] fizzygeek has a similar automatic immediate intense dislike when web pages make noises unbidden. "NO TALKING! SILENCE, CATAMITE!", she'll roar in a stentorian tone.

I had one a few days ago that was creepy (like a certain video game when your "sanity" meter starts getting low), that would just peep and breedle occasionally for no apparent reason. Also something on my friends page, never did get to the bottom of it.

I have the same friends on my list and will let them know how upset they were making me while trying to check on the rest of my friends. Normally the persons wouldn't have made such a mistake, so I think maybe one of their cats did it. Jack Burton just has look a cat that loves to spoil ones day like that.

You could track this

If you can't find the HTML OBJECT that is creating the sound, or the JavaScript, then you could always try using firebug and examine the actual state of the DOM (kinda complex I know), but if the filter that causes that is public, drop me an email, and I can load it up and see if I can spot which one causes the problem. Obviously if the post is not public I won't be able to, but I could find it if it is a public post. Finding problems with web pages is sort of my job or part of it (as a web developer).
