Tonight, i am restless; restless like i haven't been in some time. I've paced. I've tried calling people. Played a few rounds of tennis and bowled some on the Wii. May have to go for a walk.

I've been reading my way through Deathnote, which i found at the [livejournal.com profile] nookery; [livejournal.com profile] sagesaria told me they belong to [livejournal.com profile] madbodger. I read 1-3 Friday night/Saturday evening - depending on how you reckon days - vol 4 i read when i awoke, and vol 5 i brought home and finished today. Volumes 6-9 are there, so i'll have to return this one to read more. L, one of the characters, is kind of silly, i've decided, if in a good way.

Tried calling my mom today, to no avail. So she was either at my sister's or asleep. *shrug* I'll try again tomorrow. Oh, also tomorrow, i'm having dinner with [livejournal.com profile] grlsctgnbad. Big happy!

Still don't have a start date for work. Speaking of which, a credit report arrived in the mail because an employer requested it. It seems that the Anne Arundel Circuit Court uses the same docket numbering system as the Virginia Circuit Courts. The tax lien is apparently in MD, which seems to think i owe Maryland income taxes for year 2001. I have never lived in, nor worked in, Maryland. So i need to find my DC return for 2001 and fax it and the W-2(s) to Maryland. Wee! That will release the tax lien.

A different agency had reported the lien as being in the Fairfax County [VA] Circuit Court, rather than the Anne Arundel County [MD] Circuit Court. What a major PIA. Upside of the background investigation is my credit report will be mightily improved.

Bun-bun is doing very well, we let him roam a good bit, which has improved his confidence and mood a good bit. He and Feldspar play some, chasing each other. Jasper is a bit afraid of him. Jasper spent his first 18 months in a househould with a big log-ear who thumped loudly, and i'm guessing may have nipped him. He and Bun-bun have sniffed, but Jasper is yet leery.

Okay, i think i'll stop now.

When we re-financed our house, the tax lien on someone else's house (with a fairly different name from mine) needed to be dealt with. The cost of "dealing with it" was something like $70. I still have no idea what this "dealing" entailed.

Our lawyer filed the certified statement we gave him that, since your name was nothing like the lien-subject name, we weren't responsible. I think he filed it with the city, and I think there were enough fiddley bits about what piece of paper had to be filed with whom, that it acted like an "old boy's network" where we paid money to make the obvious problem go away.

Now that I consider it, I think this might be the closest I've seen to a bribe. Possibly ever, almost certainly since coming to Canada.

L is pure love ♥ and yes, he is rather silly. And I STILL need an icon of him. *has been lazy*

I like L plenty, because he's smart and a sugar fiend, nicely illustrating my assertion that sugar is brain food. I have V10 and V11 and the movie, too.

Sugar IS brain food! They have research on it and everything!

I need to finish book 6. Maybe some reading by flashlight while I'm at Faerie Fest?
