What American accent do you have?
Created by Xavier on Memegen.net

Southern. Love it or hate it, your accent says you're probably from somewhere south of the Ohio River.

Take this quiz now - it's easy!
We're going to start with "cot" and "caught." When you say those words do they sound the same or different?

I turned up as Middle Atlantic--that was right.

What amazes me is either that people who don't make absolutely vital vowel distinctions manage to communicate (and most of them don't seem to have "ink-pen" workarounds) or else some dialects maintain vowel distinctions that don't actually add to communication. Or is it just noisier in the Middle Atlantic so that some of us need more redundancy?

Yeah, well... I am still able to understand ya, when ya speak. Heck, I can even talk like ya'll once in awhile. :)

Actually I start to talk like whom ever I am with. It gets scary when I am around a bunch of Brits and start picking up thei accent. :)

How'd I get Midland?

Unless it's something along the lines of the tug-of-war between Southern, Northern and Californian all lost and gave up in the middle!

I guess that's what you get...
- with 1 parent from NJ & NY
- with 1 parent from San Francisco
- growing up in VA & DC
- having lived in Los Angeles but in DC metro area most of life
- spending a lot of time in NJ

...you get Kansas City? Huh!
