Updatey Thing

I got home about 30 minutes ago. Just as i stopped at the light at the end of the off-ramp from the toll road, clicking noises upon the windscreen. Sleet. Enough to have accumulated to the point of seeing wheel tracks and footprints by the time i went into the house. I'm hoping Reston's far enough west to avoid the freezing rain - we'll see. I'm guessing no church in the morning.

Why was i getting home at about 04:00, you may ask. Well, i got to The nookery at about 18:20 last night, picked up nosebeepbear, and headed of to IKEA in College Park so she could buy a table. We met up with lionessprite there, as she was also shopping for tables.

It took most of an hour for furniture pick-up to produce the table bits (table top, mounting bracket, and legs), for us to take home. Much to nosebeepbear's surprise, the table parts, and her scooter all fit into my CR-V, and the hatch closed, too.

From there, it was off to Plato's for food - i was desparately hungry. After a satisfying meal, and a pause at the Kentlands Giant, we were back at The Nookery, where supremherptile and M kindly emptied my car of the IKEA purchases, as i'd totally taxed myself with the shopping trip.

On Thursday, i injured myself playing Wii Sports - i hurt my right shoulder and my left gluteus maximus. I got sports injuries from playing console games. Who'da thunk?

As a result of those injuries, and rehearsal Friday night, i hurt too much to go up the stairs, then slept - sort of - on the sofa. This morning, i ate a small bit, ached a lot, managed to get up the stairs, fall into bed, and slept through today's rehearsal.

I did get some ibuprofen after dinner tonight, which has helped a lot. I expect to be at tomorrow's rehearsal, assuming i'm healed enough for the dance numbers. :| No Wii for me until i'm better, and more carefully, obviously.

I left for church a few minutes before you posted this. The cancelled the later service, during which i teach, while i was en route. I stopped at a PetSmart and got cat food and litter. By the time i got back to the beltway, much more snow was falling, and i came back to Reston at about 40 MPH, max. I paused at a gas station, Trader Joe's, came home, walked the dog, and do not plan to go out again today. The roads are in godawful shape.
