When i was just a little child,
i asked my mother, "What will we eat?"
Will it be savory, or possibly sweet?
Here's what she said to me:

Que será-serole,
whatever we have, we'll eat
Throw it in a dish, then mix and heat

When i was just a kid in school,
I asked my teacher, what will we eat?
Will it be beef roast, or maybe cordon bleu?
This was her wise reply:

whatever they serve, we'll eat
Likely tuna fish with cheese and elbows baked

whatever they serve, we'll eat

When i was young, i fell in love,
I asked my sweetheart, what lies ahead
Will there be lobster, maybe in bisque,
This was his kind reply:

Que será-serole,
Whatever you make, i'll eat
With bread or noodles and sauce,
Que será-serole
Whatever you make, i'll eat

Now i have children of my own,
And they ask me, what's there to eat
Will it look pretty, will it be rich
I tell them tenderly:

Que será-serole,
whatever we have, we'll eat
Mixed up in a dish, baked til heated through
Que será-serole!
whatever we have, we'll eat
