Confusing

I need to fax my 2001 DC tax return and W-2s to the Revenue Administration Division of the Comptroller of Maryland to prove that i neither lived in, nor worked in, Maryland that year, in order to prevent them from putting a lien on my Federal refunds. I'm very curious how this came to be. Now to find the 2001 taxes. Sigh.

Upside, i've reduced the mail pile by 1/3 today. I'll tackle the rest tomorrow.

I had that happen to me a while back with VA. They picked the one year out of like 7 straight where I had not worked or lived at any point in VA and said that I owed taxes for it.

Uhhh... shouldn't your 2001 taxes be filed and on record? Why would Maryland even need you to send them?

Well, if you don't find them, you may be able to request a record FOR them.

Maryland would have no record of my taxes whatsoever, seeing as i have never lived nor worked there. This is completely random from my POV. But i can fax them the records.
