What a weekend!

Late morning on Saturday i helped [livejournal.com profile] little_bitti and [livejournal.com profile] _brightshadow_ move some furniture they bought into their home - the hutch weighs a lot. They kindly treated my to brunch at Amphora afterward.

I then went home, bathed and changed, and went to Dale City to pick up my mother, whom i took to Rockville. Took her to dinner at Yuan Fu - the sizzling rice soup really hit the spot for both of us - then we saw the MirĂ³ Quartet perform at the JCCGW. They have really great programming there, if you're in the DC/Baltimore area, you should check out the calendar for the Gildenhorn-Spiesman Center for the Arts there.

MirĂ³ Quartet was lovely, especially their take on Shostakovich's 14th Quartet, though the Jerusalem Quartet has a better stage presence. After the show, took Mom home.

Sunday, i got up and went to church, where i had a terrific conversation with the middle schoolers about paganism in general, though i failed to differentiate between heathens and pagans, which i will correct next week.

After church, i parked in Rosslyn (on N. Nash St, the unlabelled one between N Oak and N Ft Meyer) and walked over to Georgetown University; walking across the key bridge is one of life's littel joys for me. At GU's Gonda Theatre in the Davis Center i saw the final performance of Segui, Seguila, Seguiya: S'Absenter Pour Etre Enfin La with my friend Robert. It was...interesting. The plot, such as it was, left lots of threads hanging, and there was no message nor leitmotif that tied the story together - let alone concluded it - aside from the whole being set during a traditional funeral.

The Ivoirian music/dance troop who were in the play were quite wonderful, and did great things with the choreography. We dined at Hard Times in Clarenden afterward. He drove me back to my car, and i directed him to 66 so he could get home to Manassass, while i headed up the GW Parkway to Gaithersburg, where i hung with [livejournal.com profile] nosebeepbear and [livejournal.com profile] sagesaria while we all chatted and ate and cleaned the kitchen, if not all that at once. Much fun was had by all. I came home and totally crashed.

Today, i rolled off of the couch, which confused me, i'd thought i'd gone to bed, though obviously not, and went to work. Laundry's in the washer now, should be near to final spin, that i may dress in the morrow. I promised [livejournal.com profile] sincityopera that i'd wear orange for our final dance class tomorrow. I'm going to wear my solid windsock-orange shirt, probably with the dark green rather than the light green pants.

Thanks for the plug.

OK, I forgot about the orange promise, but now remembering I still like white on you.

Can't sleep. Will be exhausted tomorrow morning.
