The Weekend
Saturday:
Just to awake at 9 on Sunday and:
- Awoke early, dried the clothes, dressed, went to the Maryland Faerie Festival, demoed Looney Labs Games until 15.
- Hopped in the car and drove down to Union Station to meet
maddogairpirate's 16:10 train, which for some inexplicable reason showed New York as the origin, even though it was the same train number he boarded in Hartford, and the same train number which had originated in Boston. Whatever, there was only one train arriving at that time.
- Walked 4 blocks back to the car, gave him a whirlwind driveby tour of Union Station-The Capitol-Pennsylvania Ave NW-Thomas-Scott-Dupont-Sheridan Circles on the way to the Beltway to go to Yuan Fu Vegetarian, the most fabulous vegan Chines restaurant in the DC region.
- Finished dinner, and headed over to Greenbelt Arts Center for the closing night (alhamdulila!) of The Two Gentlemen of Verona
- Then it was off to the combined cast party for 2GV and The Rude MechanicalsMidsummer Night's Dream
- Eventually left the wonderful party, went home, changed sheets, showered, crashed
Just to awake at 9 on Sunday and:
- Bake Chocolate Chip Muffins
- Read a bit of the Sunday Post
- Bathe and dress
- Drop
maddogairpirate at
quentinor's place
- Go from there to Whole Foods Falls Church to get cat food
- Then on to Pride Week Interfaith Service Planning meeting. This year, the Pride Week Interfaith Service will be at 7 PM at the First Congregational United Church of Christ on Tuesday, 6 June. A full list of DC Pride Week events is here.
- From there, it was off to Silver Spring to meet up with the Dutkys et al to go see Depeche Mode at Nissan Pavilion. We grabbed dinner at Lebanese Taverna Café in downtown Silver Spring, then headed to Bristow for the performance. Great show, but it took them 1/3 of it to get the sound right. The first third was not as enjoyable as the rest thanks to the awful sound.
- Got back to the Dutkys, climbed in the car, drove home, and crashed about 1:30
