Wireless connection issues

Ok. I'm at a friend's place, and am trying to connect to her Westell wireless router. Verizon DSL is her provider. So far i've been unable to associate with the access point.

I configured the router for WEP, Shared Key, 128-bit encryption, and entered a key. I then set the router to use Key 2 (the one i entered). Key 1 is 256-bit, which my current card/driver does not support.

I then go to my laptop, running a Linksys WPC54G v2 card. I see her SSID in the site survey, channel 10w 100% signal. I click connect, choose 128 Bits, enter the passphrase, set authntication to shared, and click connect. There is another variable, TX Key, and i've tried connecting with ti set to each of the 4 options (1,2,3 ,& 4). Each time i try to connect, i get "No association with Access Point". Setting Authentication to auto, as opposed to shared, makes no difference.

Suggestions? I'd really like to download some docs in my email.
