You should read this CNN article. Quoting my friend Pam:

More March Madness. She was 14. She was raped. And, under Sharia, in so-called modern Bangladesh, she was charged with adultery and lashed. Her death ruled a suicide. Where Sharia, and any fundamentalist religious code, is proclaimed the rule of law, women suffer. And suffer brutally. Make no mistake, fundamentalists want women subservient, subdued, and shrouded. Where. Is. The. Outrage?

I agree completely with what she said.
